The South Boston Neighborhood House was founded in 1901 as part of the settlement house movement to support family and neighborhood life in South Boston. Recently, they embarked on a consolidation and renovation project where a number of local unions, architects and contractors volunteered their time. The 108 year old organization has returned to it's original model where toddlers to seniors are supported under one roof. As a result of the recent renovation and relocation project, the South Boston Neighborhood House needed office and workstation furniture. Working with their corporate partners, The Furniture Trust provided twelve workstations and six private offices to this neighborhood organization, greatly improving their work environment and reusing unwanted furniture that may otherwise have reached a landfill. Engaging public and private support, the South Boston Neighborhood House continues to support the community.
