The Furniture Trust now operates the Massachusetts Teacher Resources (MTR) Free Store, building on our shared commitment to strengthening schools, supporting teachers, and reducing waste.

MTR provides free classroom supplies to educators serving students in grades K–8 at Title I schools—schools that receive federal funding to support students from low-income families. The program helps reduce teachers’ out-of-pocket expenses, promotes educational equity, and supports student success.

Free Store events are held twice annually, in August and January. We accept donations of new, classroom-ready supplies that meet current teacher needs. All donations must be approved in advance to ensure the materials can be distributed effectively. To coordinate a donation, volunteer at an upcoming event, or learn more about this important initiative, please connect with us below.
